Hace algún tiempo, en las mezquitas del lugar más fascinante y exótico del norte de Africa se entrelazaron un hombre con su pasado, una mujer con su presente…. Y una melodía de amor. Ingrid Bergman y Humphrey Bogart inmortalizaron así a la pareja de amantes quizá más intensa y desafortunada en la historia del cine, dando forma al mejor melodrama jamás filmado en Hollywood: Casablanca.

·   No obstante que representanan a dos amantes tan convincentes en Casablanca, Ingrid Bergman y Humphrey Bogart apenas cruzaban palabra fuera de los estudios de filmación.

· No se sabe con certeza quién, entre cuatro escritores que se mencionan como autores oficiales, fue el autor del guión que finalmente ganara el Oscar.

·  El negativo original de la película, guardado como tesoro nacional en una caja fuerte de la biblioteca del Congreso de los Estados Unidos, jamás ha sido prestado.

·  Debido a qye el guión fue escrito conforme se realizaba la filmación, ni siquieta del director conoció el final de la historia hasta la última semana del rodaje

·  La partida de ajedrez solitario que Rick (Bogart) está jugando cuando aparece en la pantalla por primera vez, es una partida real que Bogart estaba jugando.

·  Según un boletín de prensa de la época, Ronald Reagan fue considerado para interpretar el papel que finalmente estelarizó Humphrey Bogart.

·  Max Steiner, autor de la música original de la película, no escribió el tema As time goes by (Mientras el tiempo pasa ó  El tiempo pasará). Esta pieza existía desde 1931 y aunque Steiner la odiaba, no pudo sustituirla.

· El avión de la escena final es un modelo hecho a escala. Los mecánicos que aparecen en realidad son enanos.

·  La popular frase, tócala otra vez, Sam nunca es pronunciada en la película.
